Jay and Andrew: An Engagement Shoot to Remember

February 22nd, 2024

It was a crisp day on February 27, 2021, when I had the sheer pleasure of capturing a most remarkable love story on camera. Jay and Andrew, two individuals whose love for each other was as palpable as the sea breeze in Victoria, British Columbia, had chosen the beautiful harbour front for their sweet engagement shoot.

I first met this couple when I had the privilege of shooting their engagement photos earlier in February in the stunning location of Kananskis. We clicked instantly. It was as if I had known them forever, there was an immediate bond, an unspoken understanding that made the photoshoot a magical experience. Their love was so profound, so genuine, that it reflected in every frame. They got engaged in January, had the engagement shoot in February, and before the month was out, they were married. Yes, it was a whirlwind romance, but sometimes, when you know, you just know.

For their engagement shoot, the location was as unique and special as their love story. We started at the iconic Fairmont Empress, a landmark that perfectly encapsulated their royal love. The grandeur of the hotel, combined with their radiant happiness, made for some truly memorable shots.

Next, we moved to the harbour front. The serene waters, the bustling sounds of the harbour, the seagulls chirping overhead, it was like a symphony of love being played out in nature's backdrop. The photos captured their joy, their anticipation, and their unreserved love for each other in an intimate and beautiful manner.

One of the highlights of the shoot was the harbour taxi ride. As the taxi bobbed gently on the water, Jay and Andrew, wrapped in each other's arms, painted a picture of perfect bliss. The cool wind, the sun setting in the horizon, and their echoed laughter, everything was just perfect.

But perhaps my favourite part was the horse-drawn carriage ride. There was something so timeless, so romantic about it. As the horse trotted along the cobblestone streets, Jay and Andrew, lost in each other's eyes, looked every bit the fairytale couple.

This shoot was not just about photographs. It was about capturing a love story that was as sweet as it was swift. A story that reminded me why I love what I do. Each frame was a testament to their love, a tangible memory of their journey. And I was honoured to be a part of it. Welcome to the wonderful journey of Jay and Andrew, a tale of true love in its purest form.
